Indications
Liver qi stagnation with heat: hypochondriac, epigastric, abdominal, hernial or menstrual pain that worsens with heat or emotional upset, with irritability and a bitter taste.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red with a yellow coat. Pulse: wiry, or wiry and rapid.
Modifications
Combined into larger formulas for various pains with constraint-heat.
Cautions & Contraindications
For qi-stagnation pain with heat; Chuan Lian Zi is mildly toxic - do not exceed the dose.
