Indications

Qi stagnation with accumulation: marked abdominal distension and fullness with constipation, where the distension is the chief complaint.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: yellow greasy coat. Pulse: deep and forceful.

Modifications

Compared with Da Cheng Qi Tang, this emphasises moving qi over draining heat.

Cautions & Contraindications

Contraindicated in pregnancy and in deficiency; use briefly.
