Indications
Blood deficiency with deficient heat: flushed face, fever and irritability with thirst, and a large but empty pulse; also postpartum and post-haemorrhage weakness, and for chronic non-healing sores.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: pale. Pulse: flooding, large and empty (forceless).
Modifications
For uterine bleeding, add herbs to stop bleeding; combine with other tonics as needed.
Cautions & Contraindications
Distinguish from true heat excess (where this is contraindicated).
