  • Warms the interior and disperses cold
  • Purges cold accumulation and unblocks the bowels

Indications

Interior cold accumulation: constipation with one-sided abdominal or hypochondriac pain, cold limbs, and a cold sensation, with a bowstring deep pulse.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: white greasy coat. Pulse: deep, wiry and tight.

Modifications

Cook Da Huang briefly; warm with Fu Zi to guide the purge to cold.

Cautions & Contraindications

For cold accumulation; not for heat constipation. Use prepared Fu Zi.
