Location

On the chest, in the first intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

Anatomy

On pectoralis major; the thoraco-acromial and lateral thoracic arteries; the anterior thoracic nerve and the first intercostal nerve.

Actions & Functions

  • Unbinds the chest and descends rebellious qi
  • Relieves cough

Indications

Cough and asthma, copious phlegm, and fullness and pain of the chest.

Needling

0.3-0.5 cun, oblique or transverse insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Moxibustion may be used.

Point Combinations

With LU-1 for chest fullness and cough.
