SJ-13 Naohui

Naohui (SJ-13), “Upper Arm Meeting”, on the upper arm, dissipates phlegm nodules and relieves pain of the shoulder and arm.

Location

On the posterior aspect of the upper arm, 3 cun inferior to SJ-14, on the posterior border of the deltoid muscle.

Anatomy

On the posterior border of the deltoid, over triceps; the median collateral artery and the posterior circumflex humeral artery; the posterior brachial cutaneous nerve and the radial nerve.

Actions & Functions

  • Dissipates phlegm nodules
  • Activates the channel and benefits the shoulder

Indications

Goitre and scrofula, and pain of the shoulder and arm.

Needling

0.5-1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With SJ-14 and LI-15 for shoulder disorders.
