REN-7 Yinjiao

Yinjiao (REN-7), “Yin Intersection”, below the umbilicus, regulates the lower burner, benefits the uterus and regulates the Chong and Ren vessels.

Location

On the lower abdomen, on the anterior midline, 1 cun inferior to the umbilicus.

Anatomy

On the linea alba; the inferior and superficial epigastric arteries; the tenth intercostal nerve.

Indications

Irregular menstruation and uterine bleeding, lower abdominal pain, oedema, and hernia.

Needling

0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Suitable for moxibustion.

With REN-4 and SP-6 for menstrual disorders.
