Jianshi (PC-5), “Intermediary Courier”, is the Jing-River and Metal point of the Pericardium channel. It transforms phlegm, clears the Heart and calms the spirit, and is used for malarial disorders.
Location
On the palmar aspect of the forearm, 3 cun proximal to the wrist crease, between the tendons of palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis.
Anatomy
Between palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis; the median artery and veins; the median nerve and antebrachial cutaneous nerves.

Indications
Cardiac pain, palpitations, mental-emotional disorders and mania, phlegm misting the Heart, malaria, and stomach pain with vomiting.
Needling
0.5-1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With HT-7 and PC-6 for mental-emotional disorders; with DU-26 for phlegm misting the Heart.
