This point, beside the umbilicus, regulates the Intestines and qi of the abdomen and relieves abdominal pain and constipation.

Kidney 16 (KI 16) Huang Shu 肓俞 — Vitals Shu

Location

On the abdomen, 0.5 cun lateral to the centre of the umbilicus.

Anatomy

On the rectus abdominis; the inferior and superior epigastric arteries; the tenth intercostal nerve.

  • Regulates the Intestines and qi of the abdomen
  • Regulates the lower burner

Indications

Abdominal pain and distension, constipation, diarrhoea, and hernia.

Needling

0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With ST-25 and REN-6 for abdominal disorders.
