KI-13 Qixue

Qixue (KI-13), “Qi Hole”, on the lower abdomen, regulates the Chong Mai, benefits the uterus and treats infertility.

Location

On the lower abdomen, 3 cun inferior to the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to the anterior midline (lateral to REN-4).

Anatomy

On the rectus abdominis; the inferior epigastric artery; the eleventh and twelfth intercostal nerves.

  • Regulates the Chong Mai and the penetrating vessel
  • Benefits the uterus and regulates menstruation
  • Regulates the lower burner

Indications

Irregular menstruation, infertility, leucorrhoea, diarrhoea, and lower abdominal pain.

Needling

0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With REN-4 and SP-6 for menstrual disorders and infertility.
