Location

On the head, directly superior to the posterior border of the ear, 2 cun within the hairline (0.5 cun posterior to GB-8).

Anatomy

On the auricularis posterior and temporalis; the posterior auricular artery; the greater occipital and auriculotemporal nerves.

Indications

Headache, epilepsy and convulsions, fright and palpitations, and swollen painful gums.

Needling

0.3-0.5 cun, transverse insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

With GB-8 and DU-20 for headache and epilepsy.
