This point, at the hip, is the principal point for hip disorders and sciatica, dispelling wind-damp and activating the whole leg.
Location
On the buttock, at the junction of the lateral third and medial two-thirds of the line connecting the prominence of the greater trochanter and the sacral hiatus (DU-2).
Anatomy
In the gluteus maximus and the deeper rotators; the inferior gluteal artery; the inferior gluteal nerve and, deep, the sciatic nerve.

Indications
Sciatica, pain of the hip, buttock and leg, hemiplegia, and atrophy and motor impairment of the lower limb.
Needling
1.5-3.0 cun, perpendicular insertion (a propagated sensation along the leg is sought).

Suitable for moxibustion.

With GB-34 and BL-40 for sciatica and leg disorders.
