This is the meeting point with the Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel). It regulates the Dai Mai, benefits the uterus and is a principal point for vaginal discharge.

Gall Bladder 26 (GB 26) Dai Mai 帶脈 — Girdling Vessel

Location

On the lateral abdomen, directly below the free end of the eleventh rib, level with the umbilicus.

Anatomy

On the external and internal oblique and transversus abdominis; the subcostal artery; the subcostal nerve.

  • Benefits the uterus and regulates menstruation
  • Resolves damp-heat and stops vaginal discharge

Indications

Abnormal vaginal discharge, irregular menstruation, lower abdominal pain, prolapse of the uterus, and weakness and pain of the lumbar region.

Needling

0.5-1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With GB-41 (Confluent point of the Dai Mai) and SP-6 for vaginal discharge.
