Location

On the sacrum, in the fourth posterior sacral foramen (S4).

Anatomy

Over the fourth posterior sacral foramen; the lateral sacral artery; the dorsal ramus of the fourth sacral nerve.

Indications

Lower abdominal pain, constipation, difficult urination, abnormal vaginal discharge, and lumbosacral pain.

Needling

1.0-1.5 cun, perpendicular insertion into the foramen.
