Indications

Heat in the Intestines: diarrhoea or dysentery with abdominal pain, a burning sensation, fever, a bitter taste, and thirst.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red with a yellow coat. Pulse: rapid.

Modifications

Add Ban Xia and Sheng Jiang for accompanying nausea and vomiting.

Cautions & Contraindications

For heat diarrhoea; not for deficiency-cold diarrhoea.
