Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Nourishes the Stomach yin and generates fluids

Indications

Stomach yin deficiency: a dry mouth and throat, hunger with no desire to eat, a burning epigastric discomfort, dry stools, and a red, dry, peeled tongue.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red and dry with little or peeled coat. Pulse: thin and rapid (or weak).

Modifications

With marked heat, add Zhi Mu; with constipation, add Huo Ma Ren.

Cautions & Contraindications

For Stomach yin deficiency; not for damp or Spleen yang deficiency.
