Ingredients

  • Bai Zhu (2 parts, strengthen Spleen) – chief; Zhi Shi (1 part, reduce stagnation)
  • with lotus-leaf-wrapped rice paste

Actions & Functions

  • Strengthens the Spleen and harmonises the Stomach
  • Reduces mild food stagnation and focal distension

Indications

Spleen deficiency with mild food stagnation: epigastric focal distension and fullness, poor appetite, and incomplete digestion.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: white coat. Pulse: weak or moderate.

Modifications

Add Chen Pi (Ju Pi Zhi Zhu Wan) or digestives for more stagnation.

Cautions & Contraindications

Tonifying-biased; for excess accumulation use Bao He Wan or stronger reducers.
