Indications
Summerheat with damp: fever and irritability, thirst, a stifling chest, scanty dark urine, and possibly diarrhoea or vomiting in hot weather.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: greasy or thin yellow coat. Pulse: rapid.
Modifications
Add Zhu Sha (Yi Yuan San) to calm the spirit, or Qing Dai (Bi Yu San) for more heat – cinnabar versions now avoided.
Cautions & Contraindications
For summer damp-heat; not for cases without damp-heat or in fluid deficiency.
