Ingredients

Actions & Functions

  • Clears summerheat
  • Tonifies the qi and generates fluids

Indications

Summerheat damaging qi and fluids: fever, profuse sweating, marked thirst, fatigue and lassitude, irritability, and scanty dark urine in hot weather.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: red and dry. Pulse: rapid and weak (empty).

Modifications

With more fluid damage, increase the yin-nourishing herbs.

Cautions & Contraindications

For summerheat with qi-fluid damage; not for summerheat with predominant damp.
