Indications
Excess fire: irritability, a flushed face, constipation, epigastric fullness, toxic sores, and bleeding from heat such as nosebleed or coughing/vomiting of blood.
Tongue & Pulse
Tongue: red with a yellow coat. Pulse: rapid and forceful.
Modifications
For bleeding, the herbs may be steeped rather than hard-boiled.
Cautions & Contraindications
Cold and draining; contraindicated in pregnancy and in deficiency-cold.
