Bladder 38 (BL 38) Fu Xi 浮郄 — Floating Cleft

Location

At the back of the knee, 1 cun proximal to BL-39, on the medial side of the biceps femoris tendon.

Anatomy

Medial to the biceps femoris tendon; the superior lateral genicular artery; the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve and the common peroneal nerve.

Indications

Numbness and contraction of the popliteal region, pain and stiffness of the knee, and constipation.

Needling

0.5-1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Suitable for moxibustion.

With BL-40 for knee and popliteal disorders.
