Chengguang (BL-6), “Receiving Light”, on the head, dispels wind, benefits the nose and clears the head and eyes.

Location

On the head, 2.5 cun within the anterior hairline, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline.

Anatomy

On the epicranial aponeurosis; the frontal and superficial temporal arteries; the anastomosis of the frontal and greater occipital nerves.

  • Dispels wind and clears the head
  • Benefits the nose and the eyes

Indications

Headache and dizziness, nasal congestion, and blurred vision.

Needling

0.3-0.5 cun, transverse insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Moxibustion is generally not used here.

Point Combinations

With BL-7 for headache and nasal congestion.
