This is the Front-Mu (alarm) point of the Stomach and the Influential (Hui-meeting) point of the Fu (yang) organs. It is the principal point for the Stomach and the middle burner, harmonising and strengthening the Spleen and Stomach and resolving damp and phlegm.
Location
On the upper abdomen, on the anterior midline, 4 cun superior to the umbilicus, midway between the umbilicus and the sternocostal angle.
Anatomy
On the linea alba; the superior epigastric artery; the seventh intercostal nerve.
Actions & Functions

- Descends rebellious qi and relieves food stagnation

Indications
Stomach pain, epigastric distension and fullness, nausea and vomiting, acid regurgitation, indigestion, poor appetite, and the production of phlegm.
Needling
0.8-1.5 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Highly suitable - a principal point for moxibustion to warm and strengthen the Stomach and Spleen.
Point Combinations
With ST-36 and SP-6 to strengthen the Stomach and Spleen; with PC-6 for nausea; with ST-40 to resolve phlegm.
