Gall Bladder 32 (GB 32) Zhong Du 中瀆 — Middle Ditch

Location

On the lateral thigh, 5 cun proximal to the popliteal crease (2 cun distal to GB-31), posterior to the iliotibial band.

Anatomy

Between vastus lateralis and biceps femoris; the muscular branches of the lateral circumflex femoral artery; the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve.

Indications

Pain, numbness and motor impairment of the thigh and leg, sciatica, and hemiplegia.

Needling

1.0-1.5 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

With GB-31 and GB-34 for leg disorders.
