  • Su Zi (descend qi), Bai Jie Zi (transform phlegm), Lai Fu Zi (reduce food/descend)

Indications

Phlegm with qi stagnation: cough and wheezing with copious sputum, a stifling chest, poor appetite and difficult digestion, especially in the elderly.

Tongue & Pulse

Tongue: white greasy coat. Pulse: slippery.

Modifications

Adjust the lead seed to the predominant symptom (phlegm, qi or food).

Cautions & Contraindications

For excess phlegm; use with caution in cough from deficiency or dryness.
