This is the He-Sea and Water point of the Kidney channel. It nourishes Kidney yin, clears damp-heat from the lower burner and benefits the genitals and knee.
Location
At the medial side of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons of semitendinosus and semimembranosus, level with BL-40, when the knee is flexed.
Anatomy
Between the semitendinosus and semimembranosus tendons; the medial superior genicular artery; the medial femoral cutaneous nerve and the tibial nerve.

Indications
Impotence and genital pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, uterine bleeding, difficult or painful urination, and pain of the medial knee and thigh.
Needling
0.8-1.2 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With SP-9 for damp-heat in the lower burner; with KI-3 to nourish Kidney yin.
