Indications
Cold in the Liver channel with hernial and vertex headache; Stomach cold with vomiting and acid regurgitation; and daybreak diarrhoea from Spleen-Kidney yang deficiency.
Dosage
1.5-4.5 g in decoction.
Common Combinations
With Ren Shen and Sheng Jiang (Wu Zhu Yu Tang) for cold vomiting and headache; with Huang Lian (Zuo Jin Wan) for acid regurgitation.
Cautions & Contraindications
Hot, drying and slightly toxic - use in small doses; contraindicated in heat patterns and used with caution in pregnancy.
