Location

On the back of the lower leg, 2 cun distal to BL-40, between the two heads of the gastrocnemius muscle.

Anatomy

Between the heads of gastrocnemius; the popliteal artery branches; the medial sural cutaneous nerve and the tibial nerve.

Indications

Lower back pain radiating to the leg, pain and weakness of the leg, and uterine bleeding.

Needling

1.0-1.5 cun, perpendicular insertion.

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With BL-40 and BL-57 for leg and lumbar pain.
