Governing Vessel 13 (DU 13) Tao Dao 陶道 — Kiln Path

Location

On the upper back, in the depression below the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra (T1).

Anatomy

On the supraspinous and interspinous ligaments; the first intercostal arterial branch; the medial branch of the dorsal ramus of the first thoracic nerve.

Indications

Febrile disease and malaria, headache and stiff neck, and back stiffness.

Needling

0.5-1.0 cun, oblique upward insertion.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

With DU-14 and LI-4 for febrile disease.
