This is the Xi-Cleft point of the Gall Bladder channel, used for acute pain along the channel and (classically) for rabies and toxins.
Location
On the lateral lower leg, 7 cun proximal to the prominence of the lateral malleolus, on the anterior border of the fibula (level with GB-35).
Anatomy
On the anterior border of the fibula, on peroneus longus and brevis; the anterior tibial artery; the superficial peroneal nerve.
Actions & Functions
- Activates the channel and relieves acute pain (Xi-cleft)
- Spreads Liver qi and relieves hypochondriac pain
Indications
Acute pain of the neck, chest and costal region, headache, pain of the lateral leg, and (classically) bites and toxins.
Needling
0.5-0.8 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Suitable for moxibustion.
Point Combinations
With GB-34 for hypochondriac pain.
