Stomach 30 (ST 30) Qi Chong — Rushing Qi

This point, in the groin, regulates qi in the lower burner, benefits the genitals and is associated with the origin of the Chong Mai.

Stomach 30 (ST 30) Qi Chong 氣衝 — Rushing Qi

Location

On the groin, 5 cun inferior to the umbilicus, 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline, superior to the inguinal groove where the femoral artery pulsates.

Anatomy

On the superior border of pubic bone; the inferior epigastric artery and, lateral, the femoral artery; the ilioinguinal nerve.

  • Regulates qi in the lower burner and the Chong Mai
  • Benefits the genitals and treats hernia
  • Regulates menstruation

Indications

Genital pain and swelling, hernia, irregular menstruation and infertility, and lower abdominal pain.

Needling

0.5-1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion, avoiding the femoral artery.

Moxibustion Suitability

Suitable for moxibustion.

Point Combinations

With CV-4 and SP-4 for the Chong Mai and gynaecological disorders.
