Location
On the palm, on the radial aspect of the midpoint of the first metacarpal bone, at the border between the red and white skin of the thenar eminence.
Anatomy
Opponens pollicis and abductor pollicis brevis; the venous network of the thumb; the superficial branch of the radial nerve and palmar digital nerves.

Indications
Sore throat, loss of voice, cough, fever, haemoptysis, and feverish sensation of the palms.
Needling
0.3-0.5 cun, perpendicular insertion.
Moxibustion Suitability
Moxibustion is generally not used, as this is a heat-clearing point.
Point Combinations
With LU-11 (bled) for acute sore throat; with LU-5 for Lung heat.
